Rodger Cuzner says he will not re-offer in this fall’s federal election.
The MP for Cape Breton-Canso made the announcement Friday morning in Glace Bay.
Cuzner was first elected in 2000 and won five more elections after that
In the last federal election he had 74 per cent of the vote in the riding.
At a press conferenceon Friday Cuzner told reporters the Liberal party will start the search for a new candidate.
“The announcement today is that I will not re-offer in the upcoming election” he said. “Whenever that is dropped they will be looking for a new candidate for Cape Breton-Canso.”
Cuzner says stepping down is the right choice because he is tired.
