Firearms stolen from home during funeral for veteran

Inverness RCMP are investigating a complaint of a break and enter on Broad Cove Banks Rd. in Inverness.

Police say on Thursday between 7:45 and 10:45 a.m. a suspect entered a home through the back door.

RCMP say a wooden gun cabinet containing six firearms and two other guns were stolen.

They say the firearms are shotguns and rifles.

It’s believed the firearms belong to a veteran who recently passed away and the break in occurred during his funeral.

Police say a shed near the house was also broken into and a chainsaw is missing.

If you have any information about the incident you are asked call RCMP or crime stoppers.
