The Time is Now nears $17 million

Officials with the Saint Martha’s Regional Hospital Foundation fundraising campaign say they’re 80 percent toward their goal of $20 million.

The foundation’s chair says they’ve received a lot of donations since The Time is Now Campaign started in Sept. 2016.

Wayne Ezekiel says they’ve raised almost $17 million to date.

Ezekiel tells The Hawk big things are in store.

“We’ve got some real big plans made for the next 12 months to really step up again,” he says. “We’re meeting regularly, and we think things are going well.”

Ezekiel says members of the community have been very generous throughout the campaign.

He says the original goal was to raise $20 million by the end of 2026, and people didn’t think it could be done.

“I said ‘No no- that’s not good enough’ so we set a pretty high standard- they thought we were crazy but here we are about 80-81 per cent into our target,” he says. “We’re way ahead of schedule, so things are going really well.”

Ezekiel says they’ve raised more than $1 million in the last 12 months alone.
