Suspect in Antigonish thefts expected back in court in June

A man from Antigonish arrested following several thefts in the town has had his case adjourned.

Aaron MacMillan, 20, has been charged with break-and-enter, theft under $5,000, and possession of property obtained by crime.

He was scheduled for election-and-plea in Antigonish Provincial Court Thursday; instead, the hearing was adjourned until June 26.

It was also adjourned in April.

Police say officers responded to a theft in progress from an unlocked vehicle on St. Mary’s St. in March.

They say the car’s owner caught the suspect.

RCMP say the same suspect is accused of a break-enter-and-theft from a house on the same street and another theft from a vehicle at StFX the same night.

MacMillan was found not guilty of possession of stolen property following his arrest in relation to a Feb. 2018 car theft in Monastery.
