$6.1 million for Cape Breton Highlands National Park

The Cape Breton Highlands National Park is getting 6.1 million dollars of federal money.

At an announcement yesterday, Sydney-Victoria MP Mark Eyking said the money will be used to support restoration of salmon populations and make infrastructure improvements along the Cabot Trail.

Almost $1 million will go to restore salmon populations in the Clyburn River, for a project to to increase the population of salmon in the river to a healthy level by 2024

The remaining money, over $5 million, will go to replace Effie’s Brook Bridge near South Harbour.
