Mother, son escape Antigonish Co. fire safely

Fire has caused extensive damage to a home in Antigonish Co.

Members of the Havre Boucher, Aulds Cove and Tracadie volunteer fire departments responded to the structure fire at a home on Hwy. 4 in East Havre Boucher at roughly 10:45 p.m. Friday.

They were at the scene for more than three hours.

Fire officials say a woman and her young son, who were in the home at the time of the fire, managed to escape safely.

They say the structure is still standing, but there was extensive damage to the interior.

The cause of the fire hasn’t been determined at this point.
