Captain’s River Bridge won’t be replaced until 2023

The Captain’s River Bridge in Harbourview won’t be finished until 2023.

That’s according to Inverness County Warden Betty Ann MacQuarrie.

After Thursday’s Inverness County Council meeting, MacQuarrie told The Hawk the Provincial Department of Transportation updated her on the timeline in a meeting in May.

“We reacted to that one for sure. It can’t be left like that. We’re going to write letters and make phone-calls to the minister on that one for sure.”

MacQuarrie also called the temporary bridge a hazard, and said 4 years was not an acceptable timeline to have the bridge replaced.
