Judges with local connections appointed to superior courts

Two judges with ties to the Quad Counties have been appointed to Nova Scotia superior courts.

Carole Beaton currently sits as a Justice of the Supreme Court (Family Division) in Halifax.

She is from Port Hawkesbury and completed her undergraduate studies at StFX.

Beaton has been appointed to the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal.

Samuel Moreau currently sits on the Family Court in Amherst.

He studied at StFX and formerly served as a managing lawyer with Nova Scotia Legal Aid in Port Hawkesbury.

Moreau has been appointed as a Justice of the Supreme Court (Family Division).
