A veteran Quad Counties MP will not be running in the fall federal election.
Rodger Cuzner has decided not to seek re-election in October.
Cuzner tells The Hawk he’s grateful for his time in the house, but recognized it was time to step aside.
“I was driven and motivated to get involved when I decided to seek the nomination and put my name on the ballot, but I think the other side of that is, you know, when it’s time to get out,” he says. “I’m not the kind of guy that will be sad that it’s over, I’ll be the guy that’ll be happy that I had to opportunity to serve.”
Cuzner says he enjoyed the back-and-forth on the hill, and the chance to work with so many different people.
He says it was sometimes a challenge to get legislation and policy passed, and took a lot of time, but he says it was worth it.
Cuzner says he’ll be touring the riding again this summer, but this time on his bike instead of the campaign trail.
