FAST season continues with “A Brimful of Asha”

It’s opening night for the second performance of the 2019 Festival Antigonish Summer Theatre season.

The Main Stage series features four performances- three comedies and one musical presentation.

Reema Fuller, the managing director of Festival Antigonish, tells The Hawk “A Brimful of Asha” is a comedy about cultural and generational clashes.

“It’s a mom and her adult son- on stage- sharing the story about how the parents tried off the marry off the son, the son wasn’t quite ready, and there was some family betrayal,” she says. “Both of them are telling their story to the audience, trying to win them over.”

Show time is 8 p.m.; there was a preview performance Wednesday night.

“Ben Hur” opened July 11; “The Goodnight Bird” and “Honkey Tonk Blue” debut in August.

“If You Could Wear my Sneakers” opens on the Family Stage July 23.
