RCMP say two people from Eskasoni have been charged as a result of a drug trafficking investigation.
Shaelene Paul, 25, and George Andrew Jeddore, 43, each face two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
Paul, who remains in custody, is expected in court Wednesday; Jeddore, who was released on conditions, is scheduled to appear Aug. 13.
Police say they found a vehicle driven by one of the suspects in Christmas Island July 11.
They say the passenger threw a package from the window, which officers later found, containing a significant amount of pills.
