The Nova Scotia Government is spending nearly $1 million on 29 trail development projects across the province, several of which are in the Quad Counties.
The more than $972,000 in funding comes through the Recreational Trail Expansion Grant Program.
7 local organisations are getting trail funding:
In Antigonish Co., the Positive Action of Keppoch Society and the Antigonish Hiking and Biking Trails Association.
In Richmond Co., Potlotek’s Chapel Island Indian Band and the East Richmond ATV Riders.
In Inverness Co., the Celtic Shores Coastal Trail Association and Meat Cove Development and C@P.
In Guysborough Co., the Ocean Lake Riders ATV Club.
The program helps community groups, municipalities and not-for-profit organizations develop new trails and make capital and infrastructure upgrades to existing trails.
