Local ER shut down for four days

An emergency room in Guysborough Co. is closed for the rest of the work week.

The emergency department at Guysborough Memorial Hospital shut down at 6 a.m. Tuesday; it will re-open at 8 a.m. Saturday.

Officials with the Nova Scotia Health Authority say the reason for the closure is a lack of physician coverage.

You’re asked to go to another ER or call 911 with a medical emergency; you can call 811 for any non-urgent issues.
