Officials with the federal government have announced funding for a First Nations community in the Quad Counties.

Seamus O’Regan, the federal Indigenous Services minister, visited the We’koqma’q First Nation Tuesday.

O’Regan announced $3 million for upgrades to the community’s water infrastructure, which includes 1,300 metres of water main replacement, and the design and construction of a second well.

Federal officials are also providing $426,000 for the Steelhead Trout Farm, We’koqma’q’s aquaculture facility.
