Charges against a man arrested after a traffic stop in Inverness Co. have been dismissed.
RCMP said officers conducted a traffic stop on Hwy. 104 in Port Hastings in Aug. 2017.
They said they searched a vehicle, and found dexamphetamine, codeine, other drug paraphernalia and brass knuckles.
Sean Dale Simon, 38, of Port Hawkesbury was originally charged with a pair of possession for the purpose of trafficking counts, two weapons-related offences and three breaches.
A charter ruling found Simon’s arrest and detention on the drug counts unlawful, so the Crown called no evidence as his trial was set to get underway in March; the judge dismissed those two charges.
His remaining counts were dismissed in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court Tuesday.
