Officials in the Town of Antigonish say an online scam is targeting customers of the Antigonish Electric Utility.
They say residents are getting text messages from an unknown number with information regarding overbilling and a link to an unidentified website.
Town officials say customers will never be contacted by text, and they should ignore, block or report the number.
They say RCMP have been contacted.
