The StFX hockey teams are on the road for AUS action.
The X-Men (3-0-0), who are perfect to start the 2019-20 season and are ranked third in the country, visit the Acadia Axemen in Wolfville.
It’s the first of five games in the regular season series between the teams.
The X-Women, coming off a win against St. Thomas in Fredericton Friday night, meet the Moncton Blue Eagles (1-2-0) in the first game of the four-game season series between those two teams.
Both games get underway at 7 p.m.
The Strait Pirates play their second of back-to-back games in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League.
The Pirates, coming off a home win against Liverpool Friday night, visit the Brookfield Elks.
The teams have yet to meet in the 2019-20 season.
Game time is 4 p.m.
The Cape Breton West Islanders are home for a pair of weekend games in the Nova Scotia Major Midget Hockey League.
They host the Cole Harbour Wolfpack.
The Islanders (2-4-0), who have lost back-to-back games and three of their last four, are sixth in the eight-team league with four points, two points behind Dartmouth and the Valley, the two teams tied for fourth, and a point ahead of seventh-place Pictou Co.; the Wolfpack (6-1-1) are second with 13 points.
It’s the first game in the five-game season series between the teams.
Puck drop at the Al MacInnis Sports Centre in Port Hood is 6 p.m.
The teams play again in Port Hood Sunday afternoon.
The Cabot Highlanders visit the Fundy Thunder in the Nova Scotia Minor Midget AAA Hockey League.
The Highlanders (2-3-1), winners of two of their last three, are fifth in the eight-team league with five points, a point behind the Admirals for fourth, and a point ahead of the sixth-place Thunder (2-4-0).
They’ve met once so far; Fundy won the season opener between the teams 3-2 at home in September.
Game time is 6:30 p.m.
The 2019-20 Antigonish Rural League season kicks off with a pair of games.
The Pleasantdale Panthers play the County Outlaws at 7 p.m., while the St. Croix Angels take on the Heatherton Warriors at 8:45 p.m.
Both games are at the Antigonish Arena.
The Cape Breton Eagles play the first of back-to-back home games in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
The Eagles host the Val-d’Or Foreurs in the first match-up of the season between the teams.
Puck drop at Centre 200 in Sydney is 7 p.m.
Cape Breton remains home to meet Beaver Meadow’s Ryan MacLellan and Rouyn-Noranda Sunday afternoon.
The StFX cross-country teams are split for a pair of weekend meets.
The X-Men, 10th in the national cross country rankings, and X-Women are competing at UPEI and Montreal.
The women’s races start at 12 p.m.; the men’s races get underway at 12:45 p.m.
