The StFX women’s rugby team is competing for a national championship.
The X-Women are playing the Guelph Gryphons in the quarterfinals of the 2019 U Sports Championship in Ottawa.
That game gets underway at 12 p.m.
The winner advances to Friday’s semi-finals; the loser moves to the consolation bracket.
StFX is going for a record seventh national women’s rugby title.

The X-Men (4-2-1), with one win in their last four, are third in the seven-team conference with nine points, three points behind UNB for second, and a point ahead of the fourth-place Huskies (4-3-0).
StFX is ranked sixth in the country.
It’s the first game in the five-game season series between the teams.

The Dr. J.H. Gillis Royals have a home game in the Northern Nova Scotia High School Hockey League.
They host the Hants East Tigers.
The Royals (1-1-0), who have split their first two games to open the 2019-20 season, are third in the five-team league with two points, three points behind the undefeated Tigers (2-0-0) and Northumberland, who are tied for top spot, and a point ahead of fourth-place CEC.
It’s the first game in the season series.

The SAERC Saints host the Richmond Academy Hurricanes at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre.
The Saints (1-1-0), who split their first two games of the 2019-20 season, and Hurricanes (1-0-0), who won their only game so far, are tied for second in the five-team league with two points, two points behind Dalbrae for top spot, and a point ahead of fourth-place Eskasoni.
It’s the first game in the season between the teams.
The Inverness-Baddeck Academy Rebels visit the Eskasoni Warriors.
The Rebels are playing their season opener; the Warriors (0-0-1) lost their first game in a shootout to Richmond Academy at home Oct. 23.
Both games get underway at 7 p.m.
