The new Member of Parliament for Cape Breton-Canso says the first thing he’s focused on is relationship building.
Mike Kelloway won the seat in October’s federal election; he was sworn-in Nov. 15.
Kelloway told The Hawk Morning Show building relationships is his background, and his philosophy.
“I only know one way to make good things happen with people of like minds- that’s actually building a relationship, and sustaining that relationship,” he said. “We’re one riding, we’re diverse, but we have a lot of similarities, and I think that there’s a lot of opportunity.”
Kelloway said he’ll be meeting with members of all municipal councils in the riding consistently.
He said he’ll also create a “floating office”, which will put him and his staff members in different communities in the riding once a week to try to spend time in as many communities as possible.
