A hockey player from StFX is the U Sports female athlete of the week.
Tyra Meropoulis, a forward with the X-Women, earned the award after she scored five goals in a pair of weekend road wins; she had two goals and was named player of the game in Friday’s 3-0 win in Moncton, then scored a hat-trick and added an assist in Sunday’s 5-2 against UPEI in Charlottetown.
She was also named player of the game in that win.
Meropoulis was named StFX female athlete of the week Monday; she received AUS female athlete of the week honours Tuesday.
