Kelloway says he’s looking forward to sitting in the House

Thursday is the first sitting of the 43rd parliament.

It’s the first since the last federal election and the first for Cape Breton-Canso’s newcomer MP, Mike Kelloway.

Kelloway tells The Hawk he’s looking forward representing his constituents.

“You are the, I guess, the locus of communication and a steward in terms of working on behalf of your riding in terms of the items and issues that are important for them,” he says. “I take that exceptionally seriously.”

Kelloway says he’s spent a lot of time preparing for today.

  • Kelly MacMillan lives in Port Hawkesbury with her husband and son. She has been part of the team at 101.5 The Hawk for more than 25 years, sharing stories from around the region. You can join her weekdays from 10am until 2pm.
