Inverness Co. councillors are expected to hear a presentation from Bell Aliant reps.
They just aren’t sure when.
Municipal officials sent a request to meet with reps with Bell Aliant following the success of a presentation by Nova Scotia Power reps at November’s regular municipal council meeting.
After December’s regular meeting Thursday afternoon, Betty Ann MacQuarrie, Inverness Co.’s warden, told The Hawk Bell Aliant reps are interested in a meeting.
“I don’t think a date or a time has been committed yet, but it will be,” she said. “They will come to either a Committee of the Whole meeting or a council meeting.”
MacQuarrie said there are two issues they want to discuss.
She said they want to have a conversation regarding the response to Hurricane Dorian, but there’s another major issue.
“The very poor internet we receive here, we do pay- I would think- adequately for the service, and we’re not getting it,” she said. “That’s a big part of the conversation.”
MacQuarrie said they hope to hear Bell Aliant reps’ presentation in January.
