Local sports preview (Sunday)

The Antigonish Bulldogs are on the road in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League.

The Bulldogs travel to Trenton to take on the Pictou Co. Scotians.

It’s the fourth and final regular season game between the teams; Antigonish has won two of the first three.

Game time is 6 p.m.

 

The Cape Breton West Islanders play their second road game of the weekend in the Nova Scotia Major Midget Hockey League.

The Islanders, coming off Saturday night’s loss in Dartmouth, face the Cole Harbour Wolfpack.

Cole Harbour has won the first three games in the five-game season series.

Game time is 11 a.m.

 

The two local teams in the Nova Scotia Female Midget AAA Hockey League are on the road.

The Panthers, who are third in the seven-team league, play their second road game in as many days against Halifax at 10:15 a.m.

Halifax won Saturday’s game between the teams, the first in their four-game season series.

The league-leading Northern Selects visit the Penguins in the second half of a weekend home-and-home series at 1 p.m.

The Selects took the first half in Pictou Saturday night, also the first of four games between those teams.

 

The Cabot Highlanders host the second-place Valley Wildcats for the second time in as many days in the Nova Scotia Minor Midget AAA Hockey League.

The Highlanders won Saturday night’s game.

It’s the fourth and final regular season game between the teams.

Puck drop at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre is 12:30 p.m.
