Mayor says she’s very happy with area transit group

The mayor of Port Hawkesbury says she’s happy the funding and space they provide to Strait Area Transit is being put to good use.

Councillors heard a report from SAT at Monday’s regular council meeting.

After, Mayor Brenda Chisholm-Beaton said the service helps a lot of people.

“They’re changing lives,” she said. “[It] makes the difference of whether or not they can pursue education at one of our educational institutions, or whether of not they can get out to visit a loved one or family, and it really is making a big difference.”

Chisholm-Beaton said she thinks a recent expansion by SAT into Victoria Co. has helped even more people.
