Two hockey players have swept the latest StFX athlete of the week awards.
Tyra Meropoulis, X-Women hockey forward, tallied six points in two recent wins and was named player of the game in both games. In Tuesday’s 4-3 victory over SMU, Meropoulis scored two goals and an assist. She followed up with one goal and two assists in a 6-2 win over Moncton on Saturday. With 29 points to date, Meropoulis is currently leading the nation in both points and goals.
Matt Graham, X-Men hockey forward, scored three goals in two wins this week. In Wednesday’s 4-3 win over DAL, Graham scored two goals and was named the second star of the game. He then scored the first goal in the X-Men’s 4-2 win over PEI Saturday.
