A group of women leaders from across Cape Breton and Eastern Nova Scotia are hosting a municipal leadership program.
The Leadership School for Women aims to get more women into government at the municipal and band level.
In a release, Port Hawkesbury Mayor Brenda Chisholm-Beaton says the two-day program has information on local government and will host discussions on the opportunities and barriers facing women in leadership.
She says it will be offered at no cost to participants, with childcare and travel assistance provided.
The Leadership School for Women runs May 1 & 2 in Port Hawkesbury.
