There are a pair of games on the local sports schedule.
The Strait Pirates host the Pictou Co. Scotians in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League.
The Pirates (16-18-3), who have lost three straight, are third in the six-team Sid Rowe Division with 35 points, nine points behind the Miners for second, and 16 points ahead of the fourth-place Scotians (8-17-3).
The teams have met three times in their four-game season series; the Pirates have won two of the first three.
Puck drop at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre is 7:30 p.m.
The Cape Breton Eagles play their second road game in as many nights in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
They visit the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies.
The Eagles (34-15-3), coming off Wednesday night’s 4-2 win in Val-d’Or, have won three straight and 10 of the last 11 to sit fourth in the 10-team Eastern Conference with 71 points, two points behind Rimouski for third, and 12 points ahead of fifth-place Charlottetown; the Huskies (24-24-4) are fourth in the eight-team Western Conference with 52 points.
It’s the second and final regular season game between the teams; Cape Breton won the first 8-4 in Sydney in October.
Game time is 8 p.m.
The Eagles wrap up their six-game road trip through Quebec when they visit Gatineau Saturday night.
