Teen faces assault charge after incident at Port Hawkesbury school

RCMP say a 14-year-old has been charged with assault in relation to an incident at a local school.

They say officers were called to Tamarac Education Centre in Port Hawkesbury at 2 p.m. Monday.

Police say a 13-year-old suffered moderate injuries when she was punched; she was treated in hospital and released.

They say their investigation led to an assault charge against a 14-year-old; she’s scheduled to appear in Port Hawkesbury Youth Court April 27.
