New restrictions in place to prevent spread of COVID-19

We’re now up to seven cases of novel coronavirus in our province.

Six of those are presumptive cases; one is confirmed.

Provincial officials announced additional measures to prevent the spread of the virus Tuesday.

Restaurants will be limited to take-out and delivery only- there will be no dining in restaurants- bars must close, and gatherings are limited to 50 people or less.

NSLC locations have reduced hours, effective Wednesday; they’re open from 10-11 a.m. for seniors and at-risk customers and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. for everyone else Monday through Saturday.

They’ll be closed Sundays.

Officials with the Nova Scotia Health Authority and IWK have postponed, reduced or cancelled all of their non-urgent services.

Access Nova Scotia and Registry of Motor Vehicle offices are closing for one week- starting Wednesday- to establish services that minimize contact between people; driver licence and vehicle registration expirations for March, April and May are extended to Aug. 31.
