Man killed in Antigonish Co. collision

A collision in Antigonish Co. has claimed a life.

RCMP say an Antigonish man, 42, had just got out of his vehicle near exit 32 on the divided section of Hwy. 104 when he was hit by a tractor trailer, travelling west, at 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

They say the driver of the tractor trailer wasn’t able to avoid the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say they closed the section of highway between the Beech Hill Rd. and Hwy. 7 exits for seven-and-a-half hours while they investigated.
