The mayor of Port Hawkesbury says she’s got big plans for a potential second term.
Brenda Chisholm-Beaton has announced she’ll be running in October’s municipal elections.
Chisholm-Beaton was first elected to town council in 2012; she became mayor in 2016.
She says she’s proud of what she’s done so far improving the town’s streets and active trails.
Chisholm-Beaton tells The Hawk there’s still a lot left to do.
“I’m really passionate about growing the town of Port Hawkesbury, (and) ensuring that Port Hawkesbury has a strong future.”
Chisholm Beaton says that’s why she’ll run to lead town council once again.
She says she’s looking forward to doing all in her power to make sure the town prospers.
Chisholm-Beaton says she’ll focus on waterfront and port development, doctor recruitment, and poverty reduction if she’s elected to a second term.
