Creator of viral Facebook cooking show says it was just to pass the time

The creator of a local viral Facebook cooking show says she was just looking to pass the time during COVID-19.

Mary Janet MacDonald says she made Tunes and Wooden Spoons for her friends and family, but it quickly grew.

MacDonald tells The Hawk Morning Show she couldn’t have predicted the page would be be near 30,000 likes three months later.

“It was never meant to be a thing,” she says. “I just thought it would just be out there to family and some friends.”

Most of her videos sit between 10,000 and 30,000 views, but her most viewed recipe, for cinnamon buns, has almost 200,000 views.

You can hear the full interview here.
