38-year-old stabbed in Inverness

Inverness District RCMP responded to a serious assault on Friday.

RCMP say a 38-year-old man was stabbed following an argument which occurred in a parking lot on Central Ave. in Inverness.

Police say the victim sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital by EHS.

They say the 54-year-old suspect was arrested a short time later when he turned himself in at the Inverness RCMP detachment.

The suspect is facing charges of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

He is in custody and is scheduled to appear in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court on August 10th.

The investigation is ongoing.
