Three legions in the area are getting provincial funding.
Officials with the provincial government have announced they’re investing $100,000 in the Legion Capital Assistance Program to help with upgrades to Royal Canadian Legion facilities; the program provides as much as 50 per cent of total eligible costs, to a maximum of $10,000 for projects selected.
A total of 16 legions are in line for funding in 2020-21, including Port Hawkesbury, Guysborough and Baddeck.
Improvements include siding replacement, roof repairs, upgrades to bathrooms, on-site sewage system maintenance and heating system replacements.
