Paul MacLean’s time in Columbus is over.
MacLean, an Antigonish native, tells The Athletic he’s been informed his expiring contract will not be renewed.
He was hired as an assistant coach to work with the Blue Jacket’s power play in November.
Columbus beat Toronto in five games in the play-in round, then lost to Tampa Bay in five games in the first round of the playoffs.
MacLean has served as head coach in Ottawa; he’s also been an assistant in Anaheim and Detroit.
