More municipal election candidates have come forward.
There will be a mayoral race in the Town of Mulgrave.
Ralph Hadley, the town’s current mayor, isn’t re-offering; Lorne MacDonald, a former mayor, and Ron Chisholm, a current town councillor, are running to replace him.
Meanwhile, Hughie MacDougall and Mark MacIver, a pair of incumbent Port Hawkesbury town councillors, announced they’re running again during September’s regular town council meeting; Michele Tabensky has also thrown her hat in the ring following an unsuccessful town council run in 2016.
Christine Dowling has announced she’s running in District 4 (Whycocomagh/Orangedale/Ainslie) in Inverness Co.; Dowling’s husband, John, currently represents District 6 (Port Hastings/Judique/West Bay), and is re-offering.
The deadline for candidates to file their nomination papers is Tuesday; municipal elections take place across the province Oct. 17.
