A man arrested in relation to an incident in Richmond Co. has been convicted of three charges.
Police say two men and a dog showed up at a home on Chapel Island Rd. and tried to sell drugs to the homeowner late one evening in January.
They say the woman yelled at the two men, one left, but the second didn’t; she tried to push him out, there was a struggle, and she called police.
RCMP say he threatened the homeowner and damaged her property, but he eventually left; the woman wasn’t hurt.
They say officers arrested the two men- plus a third- in Eskasoni shortly after; one of the three resisted arrest.
Tristan James Marchand, 34, of Louisdale was originally charged with four counts of possession, two mischief counts, resisting arrest, false alarm of fire, break-and-enter, assault, assault with a weapon, uttering threats, and four breaches.
A judge found Marchand guilty of three counts in the case- mischief, uttering threats and false alarm of fire- in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court Nov. 10; he’ll remain in custody until a sentencing hearing Friday.
Resisting arrest and breach counts were dismissed in October; a trial on two possession for purpose of trafficking charges is scheduled to take place in Nova Scotia Supreme Court in Sydney Aug. 31.
