Crock Pot 6 Quart Express Crock Multi-Cookers Recalled

Sunbeam is recalling almost 1 million Crock Pot 6 Quart Express Crock Multi-Cookers.

The recall is due to the possibility of the unit pressurizing when the lid is not fully locked which can cause the lid to suddenly detach while the product is in use, posing burn risks to consumers from hot food and liquids ejected from the product.

The recall includes approx 914,410 units in the United States and 28,330 in Canada. They were sold in-stores and online between April 2018 to November 2020 in Canada.
So far, there have been 119 reports of injuries ranging in severity from first degree to third degree burns in the US and 2 burn injuries in Canada.

The affected Crock Pots have model numbers: SCCPPC600-V1 and SCCPPC600-V1-033 which can be found on the label situated at the bottom of the unit.

They were manufactured between March 20, 2018 and September 18, 2018 with date codes L079JN through L261JN. The date code is engraved on one of the prongs of the electrical plug and on the bottom of the unit.

Consumers should immediately contact Sunbeam to obtain a free replacement lid. Consumers may continue using the multi-cooker while waiting for the replacement lid provided they are certain the lid is securely turned to the fully locked position by aligning the arrow on the lid with the lock symbol on the base.

For more information, contact Sunbeam at 1-800-557-4825 from 9 AM to 5 pm EST Monday to Friday or visit their website.
