There is a large RCMP presence in Meat Cove, Inverness Co.
RCMP say Perry MacKinnon is wanted on multiple warrants and has fled into a wooded area of Meat Cove with a firearm.
Police say 34-year-old MacKinnon is 5’9″ and 199 lbs, he was last seen wearing a camouflage jacket and blue pants.
They are asking anyone who sees him not approach and call 911.
Police have advised residents of Meat Cove and the surrounding area to stay inside and wait for updates.
The province issued an emergency alert for the area shortly after 1:30 p.m. Monday.
