Local sports preview (Sunday)

The Antigonish Bulldogs visit the Eskasoni Eagles in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League.

The Bulldogs, coming off Friday night’s home win against Pictou Co., have won the first three games in the season series between the teams.

Game time is 5 p.m.

The Cape Breton West Islanders host Dartmouth for the second time in as many days in the Nova Scotia U18 Major Hockey League.

Dartmouth won Saturday night’s game between the teams.

Puck drop at the Al MacInnis Sports Centre in Port Hood is 12:30 p.m.

The two local teams in the Maritime Major U18 Female Hockey League face off again.

The Northern Selects, the top team in the four-team Nova Scotia division, host the Cape Breton Lynx.

The Selects won Saturday afternoon’s game between the teams in New Glasgow.

Puck drop at the Pictou Co. Wellness Centre is 12:30 p.m.

The Cabot Highlanders remain on home ice in the Nova Scotia U16 AAA Hockey League.

The Highlanders, coming off a win against the Admirals in Port Hawkesbury Saturday night, host the Voyageurs.

They split the first two games in their season series in October.

Puck drop at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre is 12:30 p.m.

The Novas finishes off their weekend trip to Halifax in the Nova Scotia U15 Major Hockey League.

They visit the Halifax Wolverines in the first game of the season between the teams.

The Novas beat/lost in Bedford Saturday night.

Game time is 12 p.m.

The Cape Breton Eagles host River Denys’ Colten Ellis, Antigonish’s Sean Stewart and the Charlottetown Islanders in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

The Islanders, who sit in top spot in the six-team Maritimes Division, lead the season series 4-2 through their first six games against the Eagles, who are third.

Puck drop at Centre 200 in Sydney is 3 p.m.
