Mulgrave councillors welcome new CAO

There’s a new chief administrative officer in the Town of Mulgrave.

David Gray officially took on the role March 1.

Ron Chisholm, the town’s mayor, tells The Hawk Gray has experience as CAO, most recently in New Brunswick.

“The qualifications were big- we had several applications, but none of them stood out as much as he did,” he says. “We were a little dumbfounded there for a while- we’ve tried several times now for CAOs over the last seven years that I’ve been in, and haven’t got a lot of success.”

Chisholm says Gray was head and shoulders above the other candidates.

He says Darlene Berthier-Sampson, Mulgrave’s former CAO, did a great job, and agreed to stay for two weeks to help with the transition.

“Darlene has been wonderful for us- she’s gone above and beyond,” he says. “That’d be a big loss for us, but I think David’s ready to step in and fill her boots and carry on.”

Chisholm says Berthier-Sampson will be sorely missed.
