The Canso Canal re-opens to marine traffic for the 2021 shipping season Friday.
The canal closes due to ice buildup in the Northumberland Strait every Dec. 24.
It normally re-opens April 14, but required maintenance delayed that by two days.
Instead, it re-opens at 3 p.m. Friday.
That means the return of potential delays at the Canso Causeway because of boats.
