Officials with the provincial government have announced funding for a pair of projects involving local municipalities.
It comes from the Municipal Innovation Program in hopes of supporting municipal officials who are working together toward economic development and planning projects.
Four projects involving 17 municipalities are getting funding, including two locally.
There’s more than $175,000 for the Strait Area Inter-Municipal IT Service, which involves the town and county of Antigonish, Inverness Co., Port Hawkesbury and the Municipality of the District of St. Mary’s.
Eastern Nova Scotia Regional Land Use Planning is getting $375,000; that project includes the towns of Antigonish and Port Hawkesbury, as well as the counties of Antigonish, Inverness and Richmond.
