The provincial shutdown has led to the postponement of spring convocation at StFX.
University officials say the latest restrictions, which were announced Tuesday, have forced them to develop alternate plans for the ceremony.
It was scheduled for Sunday; instead, it will be held May 7.
Officials say there will be two virtual ceremonies- one at 2 p.m. and one at 6 p.m.- with pre-recorded ceremonial aspects.
Meanwhile, all spring semester classes at the university have transitioned to an online delivery format.
