Police investigate two vehicle motorcycle collision

One person was air lifted to hospital following a motorcycle collision in New Glasgow.

New Glasgow Regional Police, New Glasgow Fire Department with assistance from Pictou County District RCMP, Stellarton Police Service, Westville Police Service, RCMP Traffic Services and Emergency Health Services responded to two vehicle motorcycle collision on East River Road, New Glasgow just after noon on Friday.

The 56-year-old driver of the motorcycle sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital by helicopter.

The driver of the SUV, a 63-year-old man, had non life threatening injuries. He was taken to hospital by ambulance.

Emergency crews and New Glasgow public works closed the road for over two and a half hours.

A collision reconstructionist was on scene. Police say, the investigation is ongoing.
