Antigonish has offered a helping hand to a group of parents looking to give grads a proper send-off.
Councillors were approached by parents asking for an exemption to the town’s noise bylaw for a celebration for students.
Antigonish council granted the exemption at last Monday’s regular council meeting.
Afterward, Mayor Laurie Boucher told the Hawk they were happy to help.
“This wasn’t a normal year for our students, high school students, and especially our grad students.”
Boucher said it’s been a hard year for everyone.
She said they hope everything goes well for them.
“We wish them all the luck,” she said. “And congratulate them on their achievement, especially during such a challenging time as COVID.”
Boucher says the celebration took place Sunday at Columbus Field.
