Inverness Co. man sentenced for child pornography offenses

An Inverness Co. man was in court Monday for sentencing in relation to child pornography offenses.

RCMP say 44-year-old Wayne Thomas Prosper was arrested following the search of a Waycobah home last June.

Prosper was charged with one count of transmitting child pornography, two counts of possession of child pornography, and one count of accessing child pornography.

Prosper pleaded guilty to charges of distributing child pornography and accessing child pornography in February; two other charges of possession of child pornography were dismissed.

Prosper has been sentenced to one year in custody, three years probation, and will be registered under the Sexual Offender Information Registration Act (SOIRA) for life.
