Victoria Co. search called off after two men found safe

The Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre was called to the Baddeck area this weekend.

A search was started when two men in their 30’s didn’t return to where they launched their boat.

They departed the Cabot Trail Motel area around 4:30 p.m.

The JRCC received the call around 10 p.m. from someone who didn’t know the men but believed they were long overdue.

The two were found safe Monday morning and never needed any help.

It’s not the first time this summer JRCC and RCMP were called to the area.

In late July, a 24-year-old man died after a personal watercraft accident.
