People aren’t happy about having to go to the polls in summer and in the midst of a global pandemic.
That’s what Harvey Henderson, the independent candidate for Central Nova, said.
Henderson tells The Hawk the blame for that falls squarely on the shoulders of the Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau.
“The mere fact there’s an election this time of year, in the middle of a pandemic,” he said. “I call that incompetence.”
Henderson said people are tired of Trudeau and are looking for something different this election.
He said, people in the riding aren’t happy about what the conservatives are doing either.
Henderson was seeking the Conservative Party of Canada nomination in Central Nova but was passed over.
He said that wasn’t a decision by the local conservative members but came down from party headquarters.
“It’s supposed to be from the ground up, you pick your candidates, not from the top down.”
Henderson said the former conservative stronghold isn’t getting the respect it deserves from national organizers.
