Victoria County RCMP investigating potential fraud

A pair of victims from Ontario were ripped off while trying to purchase shipping containers from a company based in Cape Breton.

On Oct. 19, police received a call from a victim about the possible fraud.

Police say, the victim bought two shipping containers from a company named GCTMM Unlimited Logistics.

After paying over $5000, the victim wasn’t able to get ahold of the company anymore.

The second victim called on Oct. 25 with an identical story.

Police found the company’s address, which is listed as a property in Englishtown, to be a vacant piece of land.

The company’s website looked legitimate but had grammatical errors and hyperlinks that didn’t work, police say.
